Applications for 2021 entry to our BA (Hons) PDMT course have now closed.


There is a chance that space on the course may become available in clearing, so if you'd like to be considered for the waitlist please email our admissions team at who will guide you through the late application process. Please do not complete the form below without first contacting our admissions team as you will be charged the audition fee on submission and we cannot guarantee to be able to make any offers at this time.

  • Candidates for the BA (Hons) programme are required to complete our audition process by filming the content detailed below and uploading it using the Audition Application Form below.

  • We will provide notification of the audition outcome within two weeks of receipt of your application.

  • If successful, you will need to confirm your place within 14 days. This is in order for us to manage the limited spaces we have on each course.

  • If you accept you must complete the provided acceptance form and pay the non-refundable acceptance fee. 

  • If you do not accept by the deadline you will be placed on the waiting list for a place and we will contact you later in the year if a place on your selected course becomes available.

  • Our admissions team will assist successful applicants to change / make late applications to UCAS.

In order to submit the Audition Application Form you will be required to:


  • Complete all required fields 

  • Upload a clear headshot

  • Upload a full length picture of the candidate in dance wear

  • Upload all filmed audition content as detailed below


Once you have completed the Audition Application Form you will be directed to a payment portal where you can make payment of the £30.00 audition administration fee. Please note that due to the large file uploads there will be a delay (possibly several minutes) after clicking the SUBMIT APPLICATION button before being re-directed to the payment portal. Please do not refresh your page as it will re-direct on completion of the file upload.



For the dance rounds, female candidates should wear leotard & tights for Ballet content and either leotard & tights or tights/hotpants & crop top for Jazz content, with appropriate footwear. Hair should be in a bun for Ballet and off the face for Jazz. Male candidates should wear tights, shorts or tight fitting sweatpants/jazz pants and a tight-fitting top, with appropriate footwear. For all singing content, candidates should be well-presented in suitable audition attire.

  • FILM 1 - CANDIDATE INTRODUCTION - Please provide a brief (no more than 3 minutes) introduction, delivered directly to the camera, in which the candidate gives a little information about themselves. Please start by stating your full name and the course that you are auditioning for. Additionally, we would like to find out a little more about you; Why you're applying to train at Dancebox; What your desired career progression is / your dream job; What your current weekly dance training programme entails; Any performing experience you have to date; Why you're passionate about being a professional dancer; Any other important information or additional skills.


  • FILM 2 - BALLET - Content for the Ballet section of the audition is available to view in the video below. Your filmed submission should include all exercises BARRE - Plié exercise, Tendu exercise, Adage exercise & Grand Battement exercise. CENTRE - Adage exercise, Pirouette exercise and Petit Allegro exercise.


  • FILM 3 - JAZZ - Content for the Jazz section of the audition is available to view in the video below. Your filmed submission should include all exercises - Kicks exercise, Turns exercise, splits (right leg, left leg and box)



  • FILM 4 - DANCE SOLO - All candidates will be required to submit a short dance solo. This solo can be performed in a style of the candidate’s choice (Jazz, Commercial, Street, Ballet etc.) and should be no more than one minute in duration. 


  • FILM 5 - SOLO SONG - BA (Hons) in Professional Dance & Musical Theatre candidates will also be required to sing as part of their audition process. Songs should be no more than 3 minutes and should be sung to a recorded backing track. (This section is not required for Sixth Form candidates)
